Verge
Two of my lovely friends from G.A.S (Glasgow Artist Studios) have been hard at work throughout the year to get their second venture, a fantastic new project space, VERGE, up and running. I'm very excited to be part of the first show which opens this Friday. For all the info and to find out more about G.A.S check out their page HERE.

Bracelets in the making...
A while back I mentioned a wee Islay related project I was working on. So here it is. Rachel from Wild and Magic Islay got in touch looking to make some Islay charm bracelets. Rachel has brought together a few different Islay makers and here is the result...
The Bracelets themselves and the Islay are made by myself. The lovely green glass hearts and tiny glass whisky bottles are made by Heather Scott and the beautiful wee barrels are made by Thomas Logan. These are exclusive to Whisky for Girls and can be bought HERE or contact Rachel HERE

Jam, Hills and Sea Swimming
What an amazing trip. I had 10 days over on Islay and it has been absolute bliss, with wonderful weather we really made the most of it and went out adventuring every day...

Early Morning Mist
It's 5:30am and Mum has just woken me. Whilst everyone else sleeps we quietly dress and find our shoes. A quick gulp from a shared cup of tea and then we are out the back door.
The sun is not up yet but the islands of Mull and Colonsay are silhouetted against a glowing golden sky, the promise of a beautiful day ahead. We walk and talk quietly as we dip down a hill and in to the hollow filled with mist sweeping down from the lochs on the moor. This is how I started my first day on Islay.

New Ashgate Gallery
Thought I'd update you all with some new work I've just sent down to The New Ashgate Gallery down in Farnham. Alison, one of the gallery assistants had been in to visit us at Such and Such and was kind enough to invite me to show some work in their space. The gallery looks amazing and there is going to be a great mix of works on show so check out their WEBSITE for more info.

A week on Islay
I finally had some time off so decided there was only one place to spend it, Islay! and what an amazing week it was. Couldn't have timed it better, we had a week of beautiful hot weather. I don't think I slept in later than 7am any of the days and then we were up and out walking and cycling...heaven!
Back to work now and May is going to be a busy month for jewellery with an exciting Islay related project on the go which I'll update you with soon...and I'm busy getting new pieces together for a gallery down in Farnham...with that in mind I better get back to my work bench so I'll leave you with a few photos from my trip. Enjoy!

Abandoned House
Way back I made a large scale rubbing of a small abandoned house that had inspired much of my work. When a friend put a call out for an exhibition of works in another abandoned house in Aberdeen I felt it would be fitting to send a fragment of the piece to be installed...
